ONE SALESMAN’S TALE OF SUCCESS: IT BEGAN AT LTB

By , June 23, 2014

Some people are simply born a salesman.

Yitzy Elbaum may not have been born a professional salesman, but he got off to an early start in fundraising at the young age of 15. Motivated to succeed, in just two weeks Yitzy raised over $25,000 for an organization he was involved with. The fruits of success tasted spectacular; he immediately knew that he had found his passion.

When Yitzy Elbaum attended last year’s groundbreaking LTB 2013, he was working as a salesman at Court Street office supplies, an independent office supply and furniture dealer in Brooklyn. A year later, at only 26 years old, Yitzy is now the company’s Sales Manager.

What does Yitzy attribute his speedy promotion to?

“For me, the LTB 2013 event was a life changer,” he affirms. “Although I’ve been in sales for years, listening to keynote speaker Eric Lofholm’s sales training crash course woke me up to ideas I had never heard before. Not only did they speak to me, they motivated me to take action.”

Eric, a Master Sales Trainer and author of “How to Sell in the New Economy,” challenged his audience to change their mindset to achieve better sales results. And that’s exactly what Yitzy did. He was so inspired by Eric’s talk that he signed up for one of his sales training courses, where he learned that selling is about leading. His sales presentations quickly transformed from good to great.

In no time, Yitzy was ready to use his sales training experience to share his ideas and strategies with others on the team. He earned a promotion internally to do just that.

Like so many others who attended last year’s successful event, Yitzy feels like signing up for LTB 2014 is a no-brainer. He’s especially looking forward to the CEO Roundtable, where successful CEOs in the Jewish community field questions from the audience on a range of business topics, from what to look for in employees to what steps you can take to advance your career.

“Last year, someone on the panel asked how a small company with a small marketing budget should spend their money,” Yitzy recalls. “Menachem Lubinsky, the CEO of Lubicom, shared an invaluable insight: The people who answer the phone at your company are also part of your marketing team. They’re the face of your company.”

To sum it up from Yitzy’s perspective?

“Anyone and everyone involved in business transactions need to be at LTB 2014, ” he says.

We couldn’t agree more.
