When Tragedy Strikes…

By , February 6, 2013

The entire Brooklyn community was plunged into mourning this week. A young couple, Nathan and Raizy Glauber (née Silberstein), were tragically killed in a grisly hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning as they were bring driven to the hospital to prepare for the delivery of their new baby.

The expectant parents were pronounced dead immediately by medical personnel. But their baby boy survived, delivered prematurely in what friends and family hailed as a precious, miraculous gift. Sadly, this premature baby died the very next day and was buried next to the freshly dug graves of his parents, in what can only be described as a heartwrenching ending to this most awful story.

We at Ptex Group extend our most heartfelt condolences to the Glauber and Silberstein families, and pray that they be imbued with the inner strength to ultimately overcome the challenging disaster that has traumatically overturned their world.

When tragedy strikes, it behooves us to take a moment to pause, reflect and examine what is truly important. Often, we are so focused on the monetary issues of everyday business that we fail to take note of the things that are most valuable in life: the people around us.

Our family. Our friends. Our co-workers. Our neighbors. All the fellow human beings around us who contribute to this wonderful thing we call Planet Earth.

Let’s put things into perspective by appreciating the gift of life.

Take a few moments out of your busy schedule to spend quality time with your loved ones. Make sure to hug your kids today. Enjoy meaningful moments together with your friends. Give your co-workers an encouraging word or two. Offer the neighbor next door a friendly smile.

If we take a moment to stop and think, it becomes readily apparent that the primary reason for us being here is to be there for our fellow humans and spread genuine, heartfelt goodness to all.

The bottom line? Life is way too short. It’s our job to make the most of it.

May we only share happier occasions,
